Website design/layout. We specialize in designing websites for artists, musicians, performers and small to mid-sized businesses. If you've got a need for an online gallery, a functional and complete website for your band, or an online presence for your business, we can do it, mon. We'll take the ideas you've got, work together to develop a comprehensive plan, and build a website using the specifications you provide. Got 10 pages of text that you want on your web pages? Great! We can proofread it if you'd like. Need a photo gallery online? We can convert your pictures into digital format. Want a panoramic image of your business or studio? We can do it.

Proofing/grammar. Spell-checkers... cool technology, but sometimes you meant to say 'but' instead of 'butt'. We'll double-check that, and make sure the words convey the message.

Advanced website features. Mailing lists, guestbooks, event calendars, weblogs, messageboards, secure shopping carts; we can set up all of these features on your website. We'll handle the technical aspects, from database configuration and ssl keys to installation and customization. We'll build management tools when they don't already exist so that you can easily update your mailing list, event calendar, or weblog online. We can digitize photographs of your dry goods and set up a shopping cart so people can purchase prints or other merchandise. We can do visitor counters and just about any other interesting neat thing you see on another web page.

Streaming media. You've got a video presentation? Audio clip or music? We can take your VHS, High-8, or DV format clip and put it in any popular streaming video format. We can convert your audio from a CD or tape into streaming audio or mp3 format. We can convert virtually any existing digital format video or audio to a format that's viewable on your website and starts playing quickly.

Flash. We can do a Flash intro. We can even design a Flash version of your entire site. We can also develop a parallel non-Flash version to ensure that your website reaches the largest audience it possibly can.

Search engines. It's impossible to guarantee that you'll be the first website that pops up in a search engine, but we can help your online presence grow. We can take your website, apply our mad Web community kung fu, and submit it to online directories where your website has relevance. The more people link to your website, the more it will be referred to online, and the more interest it will generate.

Website programming. We can design customized community driven online information databases, secure members-only areas, and design pages that incorporate new content that you enter yourself.

We'll put your website on a CD. Perhaps you've got a press kit together, some tracks you've laid down in a local studio, pictures and a website. Or, maybe you have an image gallery and information for folks who might like to purchase some of your work or talent. Suppose you have video of a performance... For potential clients, why not present them with a CD they can pop into their computer that automatically opens up your website, image gallery, and video clips from the CD itself? The potential client doesn't need a high-speed Internet connection to view graphically rich content; it's all contained on the CD! We can also make mixed-mode CDs that work as both data and standard audio CDs, so you can include an audio track or three that play in a standard CD player. We'll provide you with a master disc, you can duplicate it all you want.

We'll even put your website on a clay tablet, Sumerian-style. You provide the clay, stylus and an optional cuneiform translation, and we'll engrave your web pages on a stack of clay tablets for posterity. We'll fire them in our kiln, and you can bury them in your yard or local grammar school sand box and confuse a future archaeologist, or have a set of bizarre doorstops and book-ends.

Website hosting. We do offer web hosting to our clients at a low monthly rate ($20/month) on our own professionally-managed web server. We provide e-mail and website hosting services, mysql database access, PHP scripting capabilities, and direct and immediate access to personal, human technical support should you need it. We can set up and maintain your website, register your domain, create e-mail accounts for you and spare you the gory technical details. Or, if you are the type who likes those gory technical details, we'll give you shell account access on our server so that you can get yourself going.

Ongoing maintenance and feature addition. When your site's been up and running for some time, gaining street cred, attracting visitors, or functioning admirably as an online business card, you might want to update it. We can do that. If you've already got a website that someone designed or started and half-finished, we can take what's there already and use it as the basis for finishing the job. If your current web hosting provider has e-mail or technical issues, we can move your existing website and any databases it uses to a new web hosting service or our own web hosting service, reconnect the dots and get it up and running somewhere more reliable.

Our philosophy. In design, we believe in creating websites that present information clearly and effectively, are intuitive to use, have visual appeal and target the intended audience. In the planning stages, we work out as many details as possible before actually starting the work. We like to make efficient use of your and our time by minimizing changes past the point where we've actually started building the site. It's easy to change the color of a house before the painting starts.

What we don't do. We don't build huge web portals. We like to avoid putting popup windows on sites -- so many people run popup window stoppers or disable popups entirely that important information in popups gets thrown out with the ads that folks are trying to block. We don't do generic cookie-cutter sites. We think that using precreated graphics and layout ideas makes a website that doesn't stand out.
